I had the privilege of judging the Polands at the 2011 Southwest Type Conference in Belton. The boars were the best set I've seen assembled at one show in many years. When Angus hit the ring, he reminded me of how Polands used to and should look like. Phenotypically, Angus is moderate sized and wide and thick made. What I love most is how high and wide his pins sit. Angus has thick hide and hair. He is in total contrast of how most Polands are represented today. I expect him to transmit his power into his barrows and make replacement gilts that are more functional. The icing on the cake is that he is intensely line bred going back to Impact. For those who may not remember, Impact may be the most influential Poland boar of all time. Angus is what Poland China hogs were when they were at their best.
